"MCEDC assembles stakeholder panel" by: Mike Reddell

Long and short-term strategic planning is under way for the Matagorda County Economic Development Corporation as it assembles a Stakeholders Committee that will probably have its first meeting in June.
That committee will focus on MCEDC’s strengths and weaknesses, Executive Director Eva Peterson told the MCEDC board last Friday.
MCEDC’s previous strategic planning document from a few years ago expired and the goal for the new planning will include annual projects and some five years out.
The Stakeholders Committee is being formed now and MCEDC board member Mitch Thames suggested Friday that the county’s school superintendents should be panel members.
“This will be a framework of where we’re going,” Peterson told the board.
After the June stakeholder meeting, Peterson will have an outline of the strategic planning process by July 1.
Strategic planning topics will include marketing and best practices.
