   Evelyn Roberts “Tunky” Hinton, 82, of Matagorda, passed away September 6, 2016. 
   She was born December 29, 1933, in Galveston, Texas, to the late Gideon Lee Roberts and Dolly LaBerta Roberts. 
   She was preceded in death by: her children’s father, David Parker Hinton; by an infant son, David Boyd Hinton; and three sisters, Melva Roberts, Diane Roberts and Penny Pinion. 
   Survivors include: daughters, Shelley Hinton Collins and her husband Stephen of Erath, La., and Sarah Lu Hinton of Sherman, Texas; sons, Craig Parker Hinton and his wife Jeannie of Matagorda, and Alan Lee Hinton of Bay City; sister, Kitty Roberts and her partner Wanda Candelaria of Houston; grandchildren, Julie Donald and husband Adam, Andrew Edward Collins, Will Parker Collins, Grant Stephen Collins, Stacie Lee Herring, Lauren Ashley Hinton and fiancé Porter Taylor, and Allison Kate Hinton; great-grandchild, Ellie Kate, due in October; and niece, Donna Joplin of Houston.
   Tunky was an accomplished realtor known to many in Matagorda County and surrounding areas. 
   She enjoyed her life at the beach and fishing on her red boat Tunky Time. 
   She was an active and dedicated member of Christ Episcopal Church in Matagorda.  
   She was a hospice volunteer and had a constant willingness to help anyone in need. 
   She was the life of the party and her spunky personality was a joy to everyone she met. 
   She was a loving sister, mother of five and grandmother of seven. Her family and dear friends will miss her greatly.
   The family will receive friends and relatives from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. 
   Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016, at Christ Episcopal Church in Matagorda, with the Rev. Hoss Gwin officiating. 
   Interment will follow at Cedarvale Cemetery in Bay City. 
   Pallbearers will be Steve Collins, Matt Foster, Billy Pawlosky, Frank Vaughan, Lee Vaughan and Tim Vaughan.
