The Matagorda County Educational Services, housed within Bay City ISD, sent its Bridges Program vocational trainees to The Children’s Store on January 27.
The store, located on the square in Bay City, worked with the students in having them help out and gain some experience in a real-world retail setting.
Store Manager Mrs. Ruth Ann explained to the trainees the tasks that needed to be completed and without hesitation they went to work.
Megan Clegg, Bridges Transition Program Supervisor and Teacher, said, “We appreciate our community partners giving the Bridges trainees the opportunity to learn new vocational skills that will help better prepare them for jobs in the future. And special thanks to Mrs. Ruth Ann who treated our hard-workers to pizza!”
