JV boys win championship in their division Several Ladycats, Blackcats advance to area track meet

 Bay City Ladycats placed in the top four in 14 events at the District 26-4A Track Championship at Brazosport High School April 5-6.
   Both the Ladycats and Blackcats picked up several top-four finishes at the district meet, qualifying them for the UIL 4A Area Meet that also will be at Brazosport HS April 20. 
   Another plus for BCHS – and a promise of things to come – was the Blackcat Junior Varsity boys were district champions, said Lance Herring, the head boys track coach and girls athletic coordinator. 
   Honors for the Ladycat track team included: 

  •     Mydestinee Franklin won the women’s triple jump – 35’ 1.5” 
  •     Franklin also won the long jump - 17’ 8” 
  •     The Ladycats’ 4x1 relay team won, with Jada Finley, Ky’asia Fields, Alicia Jones and Taylor Roberson, with a time of 49.19. 
  •     Taylor Roberson won the women’s 100 – 12.1 
  •     The women 4x2 was won by Ladycats Ky’asia Fields, Brianna Cunningham, Alicia Jones and Taylor Roberson, with a time of 1:45. 
  •     In the women 200, Ladycat Brianna Cunningham came in first at 26.93, while teammate Alicia Jones placed second, with 26.97.
