Van Vleck’s Vyron Fields (19) and De’Mitri Monroe (13) stop an early Raider drive.

The Van Vleck Leopards began quickly, scoring touchdowns on their first three possessions, and never looked back in a convincing 58-28 win over the Rice Raiders.
With the win, Van Vleck moves to 2-0 in District 14-3A-1 play, tied atop with Hallettsville.
The Leopards travel to Hallettsville Friday, with kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
The Leopard defense took the field first after Van Vleck won the coin toss and deferred to the second half.
The Raider offense quickly found the going tough - sacks by De’Mitri Monroe and Vyron Fields stopped the drive and gave the ball to the Leopard offense.
The Leopards only needed two plays to get on the scoreboard.
From the Van Vleck 42 yard line, Leopard quarterback ZeyVaunte Easton threw a perfect spiral down the middle to a wide-open Brandon Burnett, who waltzed into the end zone for the first of several scores.
