The Tidehaven Tigers won their first district title since 1994 at home with a 41-6 thumping of the Schulenburg Shorthorns last Friday.
Tidehaven (8-0, 5-0) will finish out District 14-3A-2 play at Bloomingtron (0-9, 0-6) in a game to be played at Calhoun Stadium in Port Lavaca. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10.
Tidehaven moved up in the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football 3A-2 division standings from seventh to sixth place with the win.
Tidehaven senior quarterback Bryce Galvan injured his non-throwing shoulder right before halftime last week, Head Coach David Lucio said, adding that Galvan will sit out the Bloomington game.
“He will be good to go for the playoffs.  Sophomore Blake Garcia will fill in for him against Bloomington,” Lucio said.
“This game wrapped up our first district championship since 1994. We also will be attempting to have our first undefeated season since 1994.”
The Tigers’ first-round playoff opponent is still unknown.
