Davidson, Williams among top players on Advocate’s All-Area team

   Bay City Blackcat junior quarterback Dylan Davidson was chosen Offensive Player of the Year  while Tidehaven Tiger senior Jeffrey Williams was selected as first team offense running back in the recently released 2017 Victoria Advocate All-Area Football Team.
   Cuero junior Jordan Whittington was the choice as Most Valuable Player.
   The Advocate’s other top choices include: Defensive Player of the Year, Armonie Brown, of Refugio; Lineman of the Year, Silas Robinson, Yoakum; and  All-Around Player of the Year, Jordan Moore, of Yoakum.2017 Victoria Advocate All-Area Football Team
   Other Matagorda County players selected for the newspaper’s All-Area team were:   
Second Team Offense
   Wide Receiver: Jaden Collins, Bay City
   Running Back: De’Mitri Monroe, Van Vleck
Second Team Defense
   Linebacker: Kamron Green, Tidehaven
   Secondary: Jacob Galvan, Tidehaven
Honorable Mention
   Bay City: La’Darrion Florez, Carlos Lara, Adam Smith and Teveon Roberson
   Van Vleck: Zey’Vaunte Easton, Malik Mitchell, Tristen Wells, Derek Buckalew and Dalton Ashcraft
   Palacios: Kolby Wilson, Amos Haynes, Morgan Segovia and Cameron Polk
   Tidehaven: James Carter, Darian Kemp, Alex Hernandez, Jacob Galvez, Garrett Koff, Chris Rodriguez, Dakota Jackson, Ryan Birchum and Jesse Rodriguez
