"New UIL football realignment affects county’s 4 high schools" by: Mike Reddell

New UIL football division realignments were announced last week and change the district somewhat of the county’s four high schools – Bay City, Van Vleck, Tidehaven and Palacios.
The realignments come after the UIL’s late October release of new enrollment divisions, including 4A-1 (Bay City), 3A-1 (Palacios). 3A-2 (Van Vleck and Tidehaven).
Bay City High School’s enrollment is 978, which keeps the Blackcats in 4A Division 1
The BCHS count is between the Class 4A-1 range of 790 to 1,149 students.
The Blackcats’ new District 13-4A-1 includes:
   Bay City
   El Campo
   Freeport Brazosport
   Lamar Fulshear
Bay City’s district moves from UIL Region 3 to Region 4, which has mostly South Texas schools reaching as far south to Rio Grande City Grulla and up to Boerne in the northwest corner of the region.
