Wellness Matagorda chairman Loy Sneary and co-chairman Renee Savage look over the conceptual plans for an indoor-outdoor aquatics center.

Plans to build an indoor-outdoor aquatics center – incorporating pools for competition and water therapy plus a feature-loaded outdoor facility – was recently announced by Wellness Matagorda County (WMC).
The proposed multi-purpose aquatics center provides indoor pools and the outdoor water facility grew out of long-term studies by WMC.
Wellness Matagorda is an 18-year non-profit that partners with Matagorda County, the City of Bay City, Matagorda Regional Medical Center, Bay City Independent School District and individuals and corporations to improve the physical health and wellbeing of county residents.
WMC projects have included the Hike and Bike Trail behind Bay City High School and, more recently, the Wellness and Rehabilitation Center inside MRMC’s FEMA Shelter Dome.
