The 74th Annual Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Show was capped by Saturday’s Junior Livestock Auction where 204 lots were sold for a total of $508,150.
That total is up from the 201 lots sold last year for $469,250.
Those totals from both years – and those below - don’t include add-ons. The add-ons this year are due by Friday, March 9.
The Brown sisters, Karly and Kenzie, were again on top of the steer category.
Last year, Kenzie had the grand champion and Karly had the reserve champion.
This year Karly had the grand champion steer and Kenzie showed the reserve champion.
Karly’s steer brought $10,000 at this year’s show, while Kenzie got $5,600 for her reserve champion steer. Both girls are with Van Vleck Community 4-H.
