Bay City HEB’s new E-Commerce Manager Brandon Head shows off the new refrigerators and freezers as part of the curbside department. Curbside’s grand opening is slated for Sept. 19, but orders can be made online starting Thursday, Sept. 13.

HEB Bay City’s new Curbside service aiming for a Sept. 19 Grand Opening.
“Our store is already on the website,” said HEB E-Commerce Manager Brandon Head.
“You may already make your first basket. We’re hoping to have orders able to officially be placed for the grand opening as early as Sept. 13.”
“The current Opening Day record is 157 orders. I want to break that and put Bay City on the map!” he added.
Head was a front-end manager for a Houston area Kroger for five years before moving to work at HEB and heading up the E-Commerce department.
“I’m a big people person,” he said.
“I’m always going out of my way to try and help people. But, the same process of checking people out, directing lines and so forth became tedious. I still wanted to help people though and with E-commerce growing, this seemed like a good fit.”
Buying groceries online is becoming a big thing to do, he said.
“With curbside, we aim to make it convenient for people to shop,” he added.
“It’s helpful for the people who work all day at a 9-5 job, or if someone has two or three kids to lug around and it makes going to the store a hassle. Curbside is aimed at making a grocery trip convenient.”
