"Main Street Life: Shop the Block: Senoritas and Margaritas" by: Shelly Story

In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the September theme for Shop the Block is “Senoritas and Margaritas.”
Shop the Block is from 5-7 p.m. the second Thursday of each month.
Downtown retailers offer store specials and refreshments for all to enjoy.
Visitors and locals are invited to stroll the beautiful brick sidewalks or sit a spell and visit with neighbors on Main Street, while enjoying store specials and refreshments.
Bay City Floral will be adding a different flavor to the evening and reminding shoppers it is not too early to start thinking about Christmas with a Mariana Trunk Show.
A Mariana representative will be in the store to create custom pieces that will be delivered before Christmas. You can enjoy snacks and amaretto punch while you browse.
Also during Shop the Block, Green Bros. Jewelers invites you to help support the Boys & Girls Club of Bay City while viewing the new LeVian Jewelry Collection.
There will be a chance to win a “Diamond in a Glass.”
The cost is $50 per glass and the ½-karat diamond is valued at $1,500.
You can also purchase raffle tickets at $10 each or six for $50 for a chance to win a LeVian pendant valued at $1,500.
Don’t forget about Bay City Main Street’s Heritage Festival of the Americas from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23.
There will be food and drinks inspired by different cultures, contests, music, dancing and more.
Downtown Bay City is a great place to experience Bay City’s southern hospitality and charm.
The downtown “Square” offers a collection of unique retail shops with everything from western wear and local artisan products to boutique houseware items and gourmet coffee.
Downtown Bay City boasts family owned businesses who have been around for decades as well as specialty shops owned and operated by a new generation of entrepreneurs.
