"Mayor sued by 3 housing board members" by: Mike Reddell

A lawsuit against Mayor Mark Bricker was filed recently in Matagorda County District Court by Ronny Dean Reeves, Vidala Leal Rodas, Danyal Sheniel Manning and the Bay City Housing Authority (BCHA).
The lawsuit names Bricker as the sole defendant.
Plaintiffs’ counsel is Andy Taylor of Brenham.
Taylor also represented Bobby Head of Bay City in his against lawsuit alleging city charter violations against the mayor and council members Julie Estlinbaum and Bill Cornman.
The new and unrelated filing argues the mayor’s effort to remove Leal, Manning and Reeves from the BCHA board was unlawful and denied the three board members due process and has kept the housing authority from holding meetings and conducting business.
The plaintiffs seek: a judicial determination that none of the commissioners were lawfully removed; an order requiring the reinstatement of each commissioner; and an order disqualifying and/or recusal of the mayor in engaging in further illegal and unconstitutional attempts to oust any commissioner.
