Tidehaven baseball starts with off-note against Refugio

   Tidehaven started the 2019 season with a loss to Refugio 4-3 this past Thursday.   
   On the mound Gordo Moreno got a no decision pitching 5 innings giving up 1 unearned run, giving up 4 hits, 5 walks and 5 strikeouts. 
   Taking the loss in relief was Cade Galvan pitching 2 innings giving up 3 runs 2 of them earned, 0 hits , 5 walks, 1 hit by pitcher and 4 strikeouts. 
   Leading the team with 2 hits was Moreno, Jessie Rodriguez had a double and Call Davant had 2 out 2 rbi single.  
   On Friday the Tigers traveled to Flatonia and won 15-8.  
   Jessie Rodriguez got the start on the mound pitching 2 scoreless innings . 
   Kaden Henry relieved and threw 1 inning giving up 3 runs.  Next on the mound was Clay Ford throwing 2 scoreless innings and collecting the win . Closing it out was Logan Pierce pitching 1 inning giving up 5 unearned runs. 
   Leading the team in hitting was Moreno with 4 hits, Kameron Green with 3 and Call Davant with 2.  Getting 1 hit each were: Henry, Ford, Rodriguez , Pierce and Joey Kacer. 
      A 1-1 start to the season , some positives came out but we have got to clean up our defense, way too many errors, too many walks by our pitchers as well .  Once our mental focus gets better those things will improve
