"Tidehaven pitching strong with completion of non-district competition" By Eddie Russell Tiger Baseball Coach

Last week, the Tigers traveled to Flatonia for a three-game tournament.
On Thursday we played two games:
Game 1 vs Hallettsville Sacred Heart we lost 9-1.
On the mound Gordo Moreno took the loss going 5 2/3 hard luck innings giving up 6 runs but only 1 earned due to a shaky defense.  He gave up 5 hits and struck out 7.
Kaden Henry pitched the final 1.2 innings and was victim of shaky D as well giving up 3 unearned runs.
At the plate getting one hit each were: Jessie Rodriguez, Moreno, Logan Crow and Mason Perales.
Game 2 vs Luling we lost 4-0. Cade Galvan was the victim on the mound of shaky D this time around giving up 4 runs in the first inning, only one was earned.
He gave up 5 hits, and struck out 9 in 6 innings.
At the plate getting one hit each were: Rodriguez, Moreno, Kameron Green and Crow.
Game 3 Saturday the Tigers defeated the Flatonia Bulldogs 7-4.
Starting on the mound and closing to get the save was Jessie Rodriguez giving up 2 unearned runs in 3 2/3 innings of work 2 hits striking out 2.  Coming in relief was Logan Crow pitching 2 1/3 innings giving up 1 hit, 1 earned run and striking out 7.
Henry came in relief walked a batter and Rodriguez came back in to close out the Bulldog rally getting a double play ball.
At the plate the Tigers were led by Cade Galvan who was 3-3 2 3bs, 1 2b and 5 RBIS.  Getting 2 hits a piece were: Henry, Moreno and Green.
The Tigers finish the non-district schedule with a 3-4 record.
Pitching has been really good, we have limited our walks but we have a lot of work to do in the field....but we will get there.  This district race will be very competitive:
This weekend Van Vleck won the El Campo tournament and both East Bernard and Palacios were in tournament championships, not sure of the results yet.
So we definitely have our work cut out for us, but as long as we continue to work hard and get better defensively and at the plate we will find a way into the playoffs.
