The stampeding wildebeests, above, play a pivotal role in Community Actors of South Texas and Bay City High School Dungeoneers’ production of “Lion King, Jr.” during dress rehearsals June 17. Tickets are on sale now for $10 per person with reserved seating.

   Time’s running out to get your ticket to Community Actors of South Texas’ summer musical “Lion King, Jr.”
   This production runs from 7-9 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, June 20-22, with 2 p.m. matinees on Sunday, June 23 and 30.
   Event tickets are $10 per person and available for purchase as reserved seating at https://dungeoneers.ticketleap.com/lionking.
   The play clocks in at an hour long with a 10-minute intermission.
   Bay City High School Theatre Director Magda Mirelez directs the musical with a cast and crew include over 70 children ranging from ages 6-18.
   Mirelez was approached to do a children’s play for summer 2019.
   “I proposed Lion King Jr. as a way to introduce younger community members to theatre and performance,” said Mirelez.
   “The Bay City High School Dungeoneers and CAST are proud to partner together to bring one of the most celebrated stories of all time to Bay City. 
“Join us for this hour-long adventure as a collection of the area’s youngest actors transport you to the African Plains! 
“Sing-along to classic songs you know and love and learn a few new ones, as well.”
