Matagorda Wellness’ Renee Savage and Loy Sneary addressed Van Vleck ISD trustees and community members with an update on the future of the county aquatic center Monday night, June 17.

Van Vleck ISD trustees unanimously approved over $2 million in roof construction costs due to May 10 hail damage as part of their regular meeting Monday, June 17.
The approval included bids from both Montgomery Construction and Remedy Contractors to do the work.
“We had considerable damage to all roofs in the district,” said VVISD Superintendent John O’Brien.
“There were reports of hail in varied sizes, some said it was between golf ball and baseball sized hail. It seemed to decrease as the storm worked it was way across town.”
O’Brien added that Montgomery Construction would tackle the intermediate and middle school roofs while Remedy would work on the elementary and high school roofs.
