"Tidehaven approves stadium concession stand bid" by: Jessica Shepard

Tidehaven ISD trustees unanimously approved just over $656,000 as a construction bid to Lynn Construction Company for a new concession stand at Delvin L. Taska Stadium during their regular meeting Monday, June 24.
Since it was his company bidding for the job, trustee Stuart Lynn abstained from voting.
“I do want to point out that we’re using local guys to do the work,” he said prior to the vote.
Other company bids were over $1.3 and $1.4 million for the two Houston-based companies, CDM7 and Fielder’s Choice, respectively.
“When we had Stuart do our windstorm certification as the lowest bid he saved us tens, if not thousands of dollars for the district,” said board president Stephen Crow.
“With this concession stand project bid, it helps us stay within our numbers for the entire stadium renovation.”
The new concession stand will be located on the new home side of the stadium with the new press box – both on the west side of the field.
The concession stand is part of several ongoing renovations for the stadium including new LED lighting, artificial turf, re-covered bleachers, and various other improvements.
Tidehaven ISD Superintendent Dr. Andrew Seigrist also informed trustees about rainwater entering campuses due to June rainstorms.
