"Card skimmers at local gas pumps are increasing" by: Jessica Shepard

From Jan. 1 through July 23 there have been about 50 cases of reported credit/debit card abuse to Bay City Police Department.
“Our city is experiencing an increase in credit card abuse/fraud cases,” said a BCPD press release July 19.
“The increase is being caused by external and internal skimming devices at ATMs and gas station pumps.”
“Between January 2018 and July 2018 we only had 24 reported cases,” said BCPD Lt. Irene Kjergaard.
“Right now we seem to have had the most reports at gas pumps.”
Kjergaard didn’t say which specific gas stations were being reported for skimmer abuse.
