You’ve heard of the bar where everyone knows your name, now try “Kate’s Coffee, Tea & More” for your caffeine fix from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday, at 1606 Sixth St. in downtown Bay City.
“I want to be on a first-name basis with my customers,” said store owner Angela Joseph.
“Not just for their favorite order or beverage. I want to foster friendships and provide a comfortable atmosphere for people to meet for breakfast, lunch or dinner.”
The business is new to the area, but Joseph is not.
Joseph grew up just down the road in Sweeny and previously had a coffee shop in Lake Jackson.
“We’re also looking to relocate and move our family here,” she added.
“I just love everything about Bay City and we’re committed to being here for the long haul.”
Joseph is a fully licensed and trained barista with a love for coffee.
“Coffee will always be my favorite drink and I am fond of tea,” she said.
“But, I’ve really become a fan of Boba Tea with our unique recipe. Boba Tea is a Taiwanese tea-based drink made with tea, sweetened milk or other flavorings, and sweet black balls or ‘pearls’ made from tapioca.”
The menu also features grilled sandwiches, fruit parfaits, chips, root beer floats and more.
The shop has free Wi-Fi for customers and takes phone orders as well at 979-318-3471.
