Bay City woman attacked by dogs

A 66-year-old Bay City woman is in stable condition at Matagorda Regional Medical Center (MRMC) recovering from several dog bites in an attack in the 2900 block of Avenue B, last Friday.
Officers were sent to that location in reference to a dog bite at 9:24 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.
When they arrived, the officers found the victim laying in the street covered in blood.
The woman told officers she was walking down the street when two dogs ran out from around a house.
She tried to kick at the dogs and keep them away, but the dogs were biting her, and one knocked her to the ground.
The dogs continued to bite her on her face and arms as she screamed for help, reports show.
The dogs’ owners came to where the attack occurred and secured the dogs until animal control arrived.
The woman was taken to MRMC where she remains in stable condition.
The dogs were placed in quarantine until a hearing determines if the dogs are declared as vicious animals.
