Constitutional amendment early vote to begin Oct. 21

   Early voting will begin Oct. 21 for the Nov. 5 Constitutional Amendment Election that features 10 propositions and two Port of Bay City Authority Commissioner elections – one opposed and the other unopposed.
   Early voting will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 21-25 and Oct. 28-Nov. 1, at the Bay City Service Center, 2105 Ave. M, Bay City, and Matagorda County Courthouse Annex, 405 Commerce, in Palacios.
   The Constitutional Amendment Special Election voting will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. Polling places will be included in upcoming Sentinel editions before Nov. 5 election.
   In the race for Position 3 Commissioner are incumbent Joey Sliva and challenger Donald Simons.
   Lee Weathers is unopposed for the Position 4 Commissioner seat.
The 10 proposed constitutional amendments are:
   Proposition 1 “The constitutional amendment permitting a person to hold more than one office as a municipal judge at the same time.”
