Senior Blackcat quarterback Carlos Lara hands off to senior running back Isaac Tilotta (24).

Bay City will face El Campo here Friday night in one of Texas’ oldest football rivalries in the Blackcats season finale.
“Well, you know it will always be an honor” to be part of this week’s 100th consecutive football game that part of a 116-game rivalry, Blackcat Head Coach Patrick Matthews said.
“It’s a rivalry that everyone looks forward to because of its long history,” the coach added.
“The players look forward to it. With El Campo there is elevated excitement.”
Last year, Bay City “found a formula to get a win.”
“Hopefully we will be a spoiler and get consecutive wins back-to-back.”
While the fortunes of the Blackcats (0-5, 0-8) and Ricebirds (3-1, 7-1) have gone in different directions this season, the trappings of the rivalry that dates to the early years of the 20th century can’t be discounted.
El Campo comes into the contest tied with Columbia for second place, behind District 13-4A-1 leader Needville (4-0, 7-1).
