"Words for Kanye’s recent statements about following Christ" by: Caleb Gibson

Kanye West recently made statements about God and his faith. He said that he is a follower of Jesus Christ!
How awesome is that! What should be our response as Christians when a celebrity gets saved? We should rejoice!
The final gift given to the prodigal son was a celebration. I love what the Word says, “And they began to celebrate.”
I can see all the angels in Heaven giving each other high fives as they hear about someone who gives their life to Jesus.
Although I’ve never been in Heaven this gives us a glimpse into what it will be like, a celebration.
Remember heaven is a perfect example of how we should act on this Earth.
God wants His will to be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. What happens in Heaven is good because God controls what takes place.
We have such turmoil and stress here on Earth because we live with people who make poor decisions.
Psalm 115:16 tells us, “The heavens are the heavens of the Lord, But the earth He has given to the sons of men.”
God gave Earth to man. We need to say, Lord I want your plan to rule, not mine.
Why, then, are so many people so negative about Kanye? I’ve heard people say, “Jesus doesn’t need Kanye,” or, “His faith isn’t authentic.”
Are these the things that we should say? Some of these comments are rude.
My job can replace me fairly quickly. Yet should my boss say, “We don’t need you!” Absolutely not, that would be rude. Instead great workplaces honor and respect their people.
When the Apostle Paul converted from persecuting Christians to fighting for them, he took three years off. He explains this in his letter to the church in Galatia. He explains how it was a direct revelation from Jesus that he received this truth (see Galatians 1:11-12).
After the Road to Damascus, instead of going straight to preaching, Paul went to Arabia, then back to Damascus for three years.
After that time, people heard the news and said, “The man who formerly persecuted us is now preaching the faith he once tried to destroy” (Galatians 1:23).
I see this as showing us a good pattern. We must give grace for people new to the faith to grow.
If I could write an open letter to Kanye I would say: Walking with Jesus is one of the greatest joys of this life.
Allow yourself time to learn the Word of God and what this life is about.
Once you have taken that time away from the public eye, then share your faith with them. Love you my brother!
Let’s continue to pray that more people turn from the current of the world and go in the direction of God.
Recently Kanye was on the Jimmy Kimmel show and Kimmel asked if he was a Christian Rapper.
Kanye said this, “I’m a Christian everything!” What a great statement!
That’s my heart. In whatever we do, whether we mow grass, build houses, or rap, we are called to glorify God in all that we do.
