Matagorda County Sheriff candidates Skipper Osborne and Bill Orton clashed on several fronts at the Candidates Forum last week at VFW Post No. 2438 and Auxiliary.
Almost all of the Matagorda County March 3 primary candidates – opposed and unopposed – were present at the forum, which had about 100 people attending.

While Sheriff Osborne and his Republican challenger, Precinct 6 Constable Orton, drew the most questions, commissioner candidates for precincts 1 and 3 were asked several questions from the audience about road and drainage improvements in their respective areas.
And all of the candidates explained how they’re qualified for the jobs they’re seeking.
