"Tidehaven decides to table action on MCES" by: Jessica Shepard

Tidehaven ISD school board members unanimously tabled discussion on joining the new Matagorda County Education Services Co-Op (MCES) during their regular meeting Monday, Feb. 10.
Trustees Stephen Crow, Marty Crain, Eric Saha, Stuart Lynn, Lee Pierce, and Mike Galvan were present for the meeting, board member Scott Cheek was absent.
Tidehaven ISD Superintendent Dr. Andrew Seigrist explained to the board what prompted the discussion on the new MCES Co-Op.
“For the past year and a half or so, Bay City ISD has been making moves to pull out of the current MCES agreement,” he said.
“And now that Palacios ISD has pulled out, that leaves our district with Van Vleck and Matagorda ISDs. We three will form the new MCES Co-Op with Van Vleck being the fiscal agent.”
