"Council postpones May 2 city election" by: Jessica Shepard

City Council approved postponing the May 2 city election to fall in line with the Nov. 3 General Election during their regular meeting, Tuesday, March 24.
The vote was unanimous with two abstentions – from council members Julie Estlinbaum and Bill Cornman.
Cornman and Estlinbaum abstained from voting since postponing the election extends their terms about six months.
“As you know what’s going on in the world right now, the secretary of state has sent out an election advisory that put it out there to postpone the current May election to a uniform date,” said Rhonda Clegg, Acting Deputy City Secretary.
