"Tidehaven board votes to return students to face-to-face" by: Jessica Shepard

Tidehaven ISD trustees unanimously approved returning to face-to-face instruction for all students across the district on Monday, Oct. 19, during their regular board meeting, Monday, Oct. 12.
School board members present included Stephen Crow, Marty Crain, Lee Pierce, and Mike Galvan, while trustees Stuart Lynn and Scott Cheek were absent.
“The board of trustees considered information from me as well as information from the campus administrators in discussing our current situation and the best educational method moving forward,” said Superintendent Dr. Andrew Seigrist.
“Students may return to campus and face-to-face instruction immediately, but not later than Oct. 19, Seigrist said.
“We believe that face-to-face instruction is the best manner in which to educate our students.
“We look forward to seeing our online students return to campus.
“Should you have any questions, please contact your campus principal,” he added.
Seigrist said that the district had 30% of students as online learners at the start of the year with 11% at the last count Friday, Oct. 9.
