"County OKs record vote on Nov. 3" by: Jessica Shepard

Commissioners unanimously approved canvassing the Nov. 3 General Election results during their regular meeting, Nov. 16.
Election totals included 13,801 voters who showed to the polls out of the county’s 21,980 registered voters for a 62.79% turnout overall.
“We definitely had a successful election this year,” said County Clerk Stephanie Wurtz.
“There were no hiccups and with the help of the commissioners and Sheriff’s Department, we were able to get everything handled,” she added.
“Even with the COVID-19 regulations and adding more machines – the hard work paid off and the end result is very satisfying.”
“So, it seems that there was a record-breaking turnout then?” asked County Judge Nate McDonald.
“Yes, there was and everything went quite smoothly,” answered Wurtz.
