"Tidehaven OKs agreement with solar farm" by: Jessica Shepard

Tidehaven ISD trustees unanimously approved Danish Fields Solar 313 tax limitation agreement during their regular meeting, Nov. 9.
Board members Marty Crain, Stuart Lynn, Stephen Crow, Scott Cheek, and Mike Galvan were present, while trustees Lee Edward Pierce and Eric Saha were absent.
A 313 agreement is a limitation of appraised value property for school district maintenance and operations (M&O) taxes by TISD that lasts for 10 years.
The project would be taxed at full value at the end of the contract and has an estimated $270 million revenue baseline.
“I am excited about the agreement with Danish Fields Solar, and what that can mean to our school district,” said Superintendent Dr. Andrew Seigrist.
“This company will provide a substantial financial footprint in our district. We have been working on this agreement for several months to make sure that it is mutually beneficial to them and to Tidehaven ISD.  I am very happy with the agreement we have reached and approved.”
