"Blackmon to leave coaching for middle school asst. principal job" by: Mike Reddell

Robert Blackmon will be changing jobs at Van Vleck next school year – he will go from Head Leopard Football Coach to middle school assistant principal.
“Coach Blackmon is ready for a change and we are in need of some extra help as we move into our new middle school next school year,” said Van Vleck ISD Superintendent John O’Brien Tuesday, Nov. 24.
“He will be moving to an assistant principal’s role next school year,” O’Brien added.
“We are excited about the opportunity of having Coach join us on our administrative team.”
Meanwhile, the superintendent added, “The search is on for a new Athletic Director/Head Football Coach.”
The district has begun advertising for his replacement on its website.
Blackmon finished his seventh year at his alma mater this fall and the Leopards went 3-6 this season and were the fourth seed in District 14-3A-2.
