Van Vleck Junior FFA member Kami Klepac showed the grand champion steer at this year’s MCFLA Junior Livestock Auction Saturday.

   Van Vleck Junior FFA member Kami Klepac showed the grand champion steer at the 2021 Matagorda County Fair & Livestock Association (MCFLA) annual Junior Livestock Auction Saturday, March 6, at the Matagorda County Fairgrounds.
   Klepac’s 1,375-pound steer sold for $10,000 that was purchased by Von Gonten Ranch.
   This year’s reserve grand champion steer was shown by Jayden Gilbert of Round Up 4-H. 
   Gilbert’s 1,364-pound steer fetched $6,750.
   In addition, Logan Meyer, with Bay City Junior FFA, received a $100 check for showing the highest placing steer from a Matagorda County breeder who is a member of the Matagorda County Cattlemen’s Association.
