"County to file lawsuit on ‘nuisance’ Sargent lot " by: Mike Reddell

   A Sargent property owner fighting a Matagorda County environmental nuisance lawsuit Monday also faced three Sargent area land owners who complained about conditions on his lot on Downey Caney Creek.
   County Attorney Jennifer Kim Chau told Commissioners Court at its meeting Monday morning the lot at 314 Atlantis included “lots of debris from homes that were dumped” and other nuisance conditions on his property.
   Chau asked County Environmental Health Inspector Brian Moudy to describe what he found at the property owned by Jeffrey McCulloch.
   “There was stuff burning,” Moudy told Chau, “and I was told they were burying stuff.” 
   County Judge Nate McDonald asked Moudy what kind of things were burned.
