Community Actors of South Texas' production of "The Dining Room" features a creative spin on personal interactions between family members, servants, workers, with six actors playing over 40 total roles. This weekend is the last chance to see it at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1 at CAST’s home, 920 Nichols Avenue, Bay City.

This weekend is your last chance to catch the Community Actors of South Texas (CAST) production of “The Dining Room” – a play by A.R. Gurney.
Several performances sold out last week, so this weekend is your last chance to catch CAST’s talented players!
The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, at CAST’s home, 920 Nichols Avenue, Bay City.
General Admission tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased online at casttx.booktix.com, while student tickets are $10 with a valid ID at the door only.
CAST has a concession stand open before the play and during intermission featuring a variety of snacks and drinks.
While there are many COVID-19 precautions in place, CAST is only enforcing temperature checks upon entry.
The play is Daran Norris’ directing debut for CAST, but he’s directed other productions before.
“I chose this show for multiple reasons, primarily because this is a showcase for actors with a smaller cast - six people play over 40 roles,” he said.
“It’s a great challenge and really fun for audiences. All of the action takes place in one location, so that was also a consideration.”
The Dining Room features veteran and newbie CAST actors Steven Reis, Dr. Kara Cowart, Trevor Smith, Zeinab Ghais, Benjamin Thomas, and Lindsey Backen.
