Parents and guardians escorted their 2021 Van Vleck High School graduates onto Burl McKinney Stadium’s field Thursday, May 27.
Graduate Nathan Orsak led the national anthem and pledges while Bryce Hubbard gave the invocation.
Emma Allen presented the class motto, flower, and song.
In her salutatorian address Jaycie Franz reminded her classmates that they had accomplished a large milestone in their lives.
“None of us here today are losers, because, by the end of this ceremony, we will have made one of the biggest achievements of our lives,” she explained.
“We will accomplish graduating high school. Although graduating high school is only one of the very first difficult tasks of our lives, it is still quite the quest for survival.
“We have now reached the night that will mark the rest of our lives, and we must keep going. It is time for all of us to begin our time in ‘the real world,’” Franz added.
