"Matagorda Fire Chief details response calls over weekend" by: Mike Reddell

   Matagorda Fire Chief Clay Bishop said his department’s rescue unit was kept busy Sunday assisting sheriff’s deputies. 
   “We made four calls on the beach Sunday to assist Sheriff’s Deputies, all for drownings/near-drownings, and to be honest I lost count of how many people we helped and pulled out of the water,” Bishop said.
   He listed the calls made by Matagorda Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) rescuers:
   At 1:08 p.m. June 6, MVFD responded to a medical emergency on Matagorda Beach.
   At 4:50 p.m. June 6, MVFD responded to a medical emergency on the beach.
  At 6:05 p.m. June 6, MVFD responded to a medical emergency on the beach.
   At 6:18 p.m. June 6, MVFD responded to a medical emergency on the beach.
