Bay City stumbled against Edna, losing 31-13, but the Blackcats look ahead to homecoming week and Wharton this Friday night.
Edna had a balanced attack against the Blackcats there Friday, Sept. 3, with 189 yards rushing - a 9.0-per carry average - and 176 yards passing.
Bay City’s rushing totaled 178 yards rushing and 74 yards passing.
Of Bay City’s rushing total, a game-high 164 yards of that came from freshman running back Jada Andrews, who also put up 109 yards against Sweeny the week before.
Andrews’ score against Edna was exciting for the solid block of Bay City fans at the game, as he burst from the middle of the line of scrimmage and sprinted 84 yards for a touchdown, at the 9:34 mark in the third quarter.
That tightened the score to 13-19.
