Have you ever found an injured bird in your yard and wanted to know how to help it?
The Friends of Gulf Coast Wildlife Rescue are presenting their 18th Annual Wildlife Rescue Basics Training Workshop Saturday, Feb 21.
The workshop is free and will last from 8 a.m. until noon and is at The Gulf Coast Observatory Avian Science Center at 103 east highway 332 in Lake Jackson.
Attendees can look forward to learning what to do when they find an injured or abandoned animal, an overview of wildlife rehabilitation and ho to coexist peacefully with wildlife.
“We will also be teaching basic first aid, safety and handling techniques for reptiles, mammals and birds,” said the press release.
There will also be live animals at the workshop.
Those that attend the workshop will also learn about birds of prey and the laws protecting them as well as other state and federal wildlife laws.
