    This talented group of young men and women received college or dual credit scholarships from Shop With A Cop that started in 2013.   Each year we provide local kids with school supplies, we purchase toys for kids for Christmas, and for the last few years we offered a scholarship program.

VVISD Photo Van Vleck High School Health Science Teacher, Kim Wied, along with her Health Practicum and Theory classes, held the annual Teddy Bear Animal Clinic at Van Vleck Elementary recently. Also assisting were Mrs. Erron Steinmann, Mrs. Missy Jurek, and Mrs. Lyndee Owen. Kindergarten students participated in activities with their own stuffed animals including learning about dental hygiene, xrays, and wellness checks to help them understand how healthcare professionals help us.

   Bay City Community Development Corporation (BCCDC) board members unanimously approved tabling several items regarding the Matagorda Regional Aquatics & Recreation Center (MRARC) Project during their meeting last week.  All members were present for the March 20 regular meeting.
