Tigers lose 2 games to Hallettsville

   The Tigers traveled to Hallettsville on Tuesday, April 1, and lost 4-1.   Ritchie ZGarcia gave up 4 runs, 3 of those earned on 4 hits walking 2.    Leading hitters with 2 hits each: Aston Klaiber and Bryce Sliva.   On Friday the Tigers hosted Hallettsville and lost 10-1.
Ladycat golfer Tanna Fair, above, earned her third trip to Regionals in golf last week. She shot a combined two-round total of 187 to place second in district. She will compete at Colony Creek golf course in Victoria April 14-15. The team of Tanna, Meredith Williams, Addison Smith, and Lexi Castro finished 3rd in district. BCHS photo

Tigers split with Yoakum

   The Tiger baseball team hosted Yoakum on Tuesday, March 25, and won 3-0.   Ritchie ZGarcia threw a complete game shutout, giving up three hits and striking out eight.Leading hitter with two hits was TJ Galvan.
Bay City ISD Athletics Three Blackcat powerlifters were state medalists at the Boy's State Meet in Abilene March 21: Jakob Pesina - State Runner-Up, 2nd in 275, 700 Squat, 520 Bench, 605 DL, 1825 Total; Jeremy Maradiaga - State Medalist, 5th in SHW, 680 Squat, 410 Bench, 530 DL, 1620 Total; Gustavo Ochoa - 12th in 220, 555 Squat, 405 Bench, 550 DL, 1510 Total.

BCISD photo Bay City ISD Athletics announced Bay City High School girls golfers Tanna Fair and Addison Smith on their place at the 1st Annual Bay City Invitational. Due to the weather, the tournament was shortened to only 9 holes. Tanna brought home 1st with a 46 and Addison placed 3rd with a score of 51.

   The YMCA of the Golden Crescent is offering $100 per-person Lifeguard Certification Classes in May.Classes will be available at various times Friday-Sunday, May 16-18, in Bay City and May 23-25 in Palacios.  Participants must be at least 15 years of age by the final day of testing.
