"Challenger Baseball begins 17th annual season Saturday" by: Rebecca Horton

   With a cake auction, smiling faces, and excitement in the air, the Bay City ChallengerBaseball League kicked off their 17th annual season this past Saturday.   Teams, buddies, families and community members gathered at the Little League Baseball field in Bay City.

Bay City, Tidehaven, Van Vleck athletes state bound

   Athletes from Bay City, Tidehaven and Van Vleck will be competing at the state track and field meet in Austin May 2-4, after qualifying at the 3A and 4A  regional meets.  Two from BCHS include Iris DeWitt in the discuss and Ke’Maurion LeDay in the 400 meter.

"Tigers clinch playoff spot with Yoakum win" By Eddie Russell

   The Tigers traveled to Hallettsville on Tuesday, April 16, and lost 9-8 in 9 innings.   Ricky Rubio, in relief of TJ Galvan, threw 7 1/3 innings, giving up three runs, striking out six.   Ritchie ZGarcia took the loss, giving up an unearned run in the bottom of the 9th.

Lady Leps win title in come-from-behind win

   For the 3rd time in school history, the Lady Leopards Softball Team claimed a district championship with a tough come-from-behind win against Danbury on Friday by a score of 6-5.   Leading hitters were Serenity Suarez (2-3) with a three-run home run that put the Lady Leps up in the 5th inning.

"Tiger baseball wins over Rice, Palacios" By Eddie Russell

   On Tuesday, April 9, we traveled to Rice Consolidated and won 10-3.   Winning pitcher was TJ Galvan throwing five solid innings.   Leading hitter was Connor Claxton with four hits.  Cam Johnson had two hits.  On Friday we hosted Palacios and won 4-0.    It was a well-pitched game by both sides.

Lady Leps maintain district lead, secure a playoff spot

   The Van Vleck Lady Leps secured a playoff spot on Tuesday, April 9, by defeating the Boling Lady Bulldogs 17-1.   Keira Reis picked up the win in four innings of work with six strikeouts.

"Tigers struggle through 2 losses" By Eddie Russell

   Rough stretch for the Tigers continued with two losses this week.     On Tuesday we hosted Edna and lost 16-12.    Taking the loss was Ritchie ZGarcia.    Collecting three hits each were: Connor Claxton, Jechan Duran and Christian Rubio.
