"Thanksgiving Weekend events on tap" by: Jessica Shepard

   If you’re looking to do more than shop this Thanksgiving weekend, look no further than the following events.   Start your holiday season off with the annual “Matagorda 5K Turkey Trot” at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 28, at Matagorda Beach in Matagorda.   The event is rain or shine.

"VVISD swears in 3 trustees, honors Blackmon, Ward for years of service" by: Jessica Shepard

   Van Vleck ISD school board gained two new trustees at their Nov. 18 meeting.  Trustees present included Tony Kucera, Terry Blackmon, Lauren Kubecka, Casey Kile, Donnie O’Connell, and Marcus Moss, while board member Kevin Ward was absent.
Holy Cross Catholic School photo During Community Helpers Week, Holy Cross Catholic School's PreK-3 and PreK-4 students visited the Colonial Living Nursing and Rehabilitation Center as part of their giving back to the community. The students entertained with the song, "Here I Am To Worship." They also colored with residents and gave them their artwork.
