City and City Manager part ways amicably

The City of Bay City and City Manager have reached a mutual agreement to separate her employment with the City under the terms of her Employment Contract.  The City’s decision to separate with the City Manager is simply a desire to go in a different direction.

Weekend events on tap

   Community Actors of South Texas kicks off its 2024 season with “A Night on Broadway: Fairytale Adventure” on Thursday night.    Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 18, at the CAST building, 920 Nichols Ave. in Bay City.    All tickets are $45 per person and must be purchased in advance online at casttx.

Pastor Ruben Newell receives ‘Keeping the Dream Alive’ MLK Award

   The MLK Celebration Committee of Matagorda County presented the “Keeping the Dream Alive” MLK Award to Pastor Ruben Newell.    This award is given to individuals who are involved in community events and helps to fight the injustices that Dr. King fought.
