   Matagorda County Commissioners Court awarded the construction bid for the Justice of the Peace (JP) Precinct 2 building project in Matagorda and preliminary approval for JP 2 case management software, at the court’s regular meeting Monday, Oct. 6.

   County Judge Bobby Seiferman told commissioners that more local Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT tax) “research” was needed before moving forward at a commissioner’s court workshop last week.   Precinct 3 Commissioner Troy Shimek was the only one absent for the Monday, Sept. 29 workshop.

"County awards Blessing water plant contract" by: Mike Reddell

   Commissioners Court awarded a $770,795 General Land Office construction contract for the Blessing water plant project at the court’s regular meeting Monday, Sept. 29.  The low bid was awarded to Edna-based Mercer Construction Company, as recommended by Lynn Engineering.
