The NHS requires students to have a 4.75 GPA and show skills that pertain to the four pillars of the National Honor Society: Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service.    As part of preparations for the new aquatic center project, Bay City Community Development Corporation (BCCDC) Executive Director Jessica Russell told her board that some business grant program funding was being scaled back for the 2025-2026 fiscal year budget at their meeting last week.

   Youth Leadership Matagorda County kicked off its third year with 28 countywide students at an introductory dinner on Aug. 20.  Parents, guardians and district administrations met with County Judge Bobby Seiferman and Bay City Community Development Corporation Executive Director Jessica Russell.
