Tidehaven Tigers defeated the Van Vleck Leopards 48-0 in their cross-county game last Friday night at Van Vleck. Tiger senior quarterback Kale Russell was 23 of 28 passing for 424 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed for 37 yards.

Matagorda County was set to go under a burn ban Tuesday, Oct. 14, with Emergency Management Coordinator Amanda Campos reporting the drought index was headed toward 500 at Commissioners Court meeting Monday, Oct. 13. “There will be no variance given,” Campos said.
