Contributed photo Tidehaven JH & HS Choirs received Superior Ratings and each brought home a trophy from The Pride of Texas Choir Contest in Friendswood. They sang beautifully, learned from respected guest choir directors. The Tidehaven faculty family stepped up as a team to transport these 82 young singers. Special thanks choir bus drivers, J.J. Sanchez, Coach William Dowell, and Coach Craig Nairn for transporting our kids. Also, thanks to chaperones Kayla Mata and Amber Kay.

Matagorda County Coastal & Marine  Resources  - Texas A&M AgriLife Extension discovered by beachgoers today along Matagorda Beach! It was reported immediately and TMN volunteer, Denise Middleton, also on the federal permit, dove into action to assist!  Call 1-866-TURTLE-5 to report sightings of stranded, injured, entangled, or expired Sea Turtles! @texasseagrant

   About 60 volunteers got a crash course in school district financing last Tuesday.  Volunteers ranged from a variety of professional backgrounds and ages for Bay City ISD’s first “Strategic Planning Committee” meeting April 14.

"County hears opponents of data centers" by: Mike Reddell

   Commissioners Court heard more questions about data centers at the court’s regular meeting Monday, April 20.  Diane Howard and Cheryl Wilkins spoke again Monday about the lack of information from public entities on proposed and data centers in Matagorda County.

    Early voting began Monday, April 20, for the five municipal, school board and Caney Creek MUD elections Saturday, May 2.  Bay City City Council positions 1 and 2 are up for election Saturday, May 2.
