   Matagorda County Commissioner Mike Estlinbaum successfully completed his first of four sessions in the Commissioners Court Leadership Academy.   CCLA is a rigorous two-year program hosted by the V.G. Young Institute of County Government which is part of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service.

H-GAC releases evacuation zone maps

    The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), the regional agency responsible for publishing official evacuation zones and routes for the 13-county Houston-Galveston area, is urging residents to get and stay prepared as the 2025 hurricane season is forecasted to be more active than usual.

   Officer Efrain Robles was born and raised in Bay City, Texas, and has been a proud lifelong resident of our community. From a young age,   Efrain dreamed of becoming a police officer to give back to his hometown and serve the citizens of Bay City with dedication and integrity.

   Commissioners Court approved a Texas Senate Concurrent Resolution 30 designating Matagorda County as the official Birding Capital of Texas for a 10-year period ending in 2035, at the court’s meeting Monday, June 9.
