The Wharton County Junior College Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Kyle Tomek to its Board of Directors.
Tomek, the Founder of Shorebreak Storage in Bay City, brings extensive leadership experience in the energy industry, along with a strong commitment to workforce development, education, and community engagement throughout the Gulf Coast region.
A Bay City native, Tomek has built a successful career in business development, strategic growth, and client relations within the energy sector.
Throughout his professional career, he has worked to foster partnerships that strengthen industry and community connections while helping create opportunities for future generations of skilled professionals.
“We are excited to welcome Kyle to the Foundation Board,” said Gary Gillen, President of the WCJC Foundation Board of Directors.
“His professional expertise, community involvement, and commitment to helping students succeed align perfectly with our mission. We look forward to the perspective and leadership he will bring as we continue expanding opportunities for WCJC students.”
Tomek expressed enthusiasm about joining the Foundation and supporting the College’s impact across the region.
“Wharton County Junior College has played an important role in my own personal journey and many other students in preparing them for successful careers,” said Tomek.
“I am honored to serve on the Foundation Board and look forward to helping create opportunities that empower students, support workforce training, and strengthen the communities we call home.”
The Wharton County Junior College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational awareness and financial support for Wharton County Junior College.
The Foundation recently celebrated another record-breaking year of impact, awarding scholarships to students across its service area and hosting successful fundraising events that support student success and institutional growth.
The WCJC Foundation maintains offices on the Wharton Campus inside the J.M. Hodges Library and on the Richmond Campus.
