The Texas Navy commissioned six new admirals to celebrate its 189th Anniversary with an honor ceremony at the Matagorda Harbor Pavilion Saturday, Sept. 21.  Matagorda County Judge Bobby Seiferman was among those receiving commissions as admirals.

"Port hears progress on Caney Creek dredging" by: Mike Reddell

Dredging Caney Creek at the Intracoastal Waterway and improvements at the Matagorda Bait & Tackle were discussed by the Port of Bay City Authority board meeting Sept. 12.  Dredging Caney Creek is aimed at improving navigation on the creek.
